Board of Trustees – Finance role – North east England

The North East Law Centre is looking for a dynamic accounting professional to join its Board of trustees.

NELC is unique as a not for profit specialist legal practice promoting access to social justice and serving the needs of disadvantaged groups in North East England. We have weathered many storms since our foundation in 1978, and we now have plans to grow and enhance our sustainability. We have identified a requirement for a Board member who has knowledge of and interest in the local community, is committed to access to justice for all, and specifically who has strong financial management and accounting skills so that we can support our small team with budgets, bidding, and effective financial control.

The ideal candidate will act as the treasurer for the charity and will oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice. She or he will be joining a diverse, enthusiastic Board of all ages and backgrounds.

If you feel you meet the requirements and are interested in giving something back to your local community, please contact David Slater, Chairperson, on 0191 252 6749 or 07963 788407 (ds002e1019@blueyonder.co.uk), or Michael Fawole, Director, on 0191 230 4777 or 07935 980038 (michaelfawole@newcastlelawcentre.co.uk). A c.v. and a short covering email explaining your interest and relevant experience will be requested following an initial conversation.

Good Luck!
